We had the honor to be at the 3rd edition of the German PAROOKAVILLE Festival that was held between July 21-23 this year. Although it was rainy most of the time, more than 80,000 electronic music lovers came to the festival. More than 200 DJs were playing on 11 stages.
Fascinating and very unique to this festival is its concept: It is built like a city. There are banks, where you can reload your prepaid card for food and drinks, a church, where you can get married for the time of the festival, and even a jail, where you can get a tattoo.
On Saturday, W&W, Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Headhunterz and many others rocked the crowd at the Mainstage. Most of the festival people stayed at the stage despite the heavy rain. At the same time, Hardstyle DJs like Code Black, Atmozfears, Brennan Heart and Frequencerz took over the Center Shelter.
On Sunday, DJs like Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Afrojack or David Guetta closed the Mainstage. Artists like Mike Perry and Galantis played Bill’s Factory that day, the last year’s mainstage. Our main focus, though, was the East Shelter stage that was hosted by Axtone Records. That was a good decision as the stage was located in a hangar under a roof. Unfortunately, also on Sunday the weather god wasn’t good to the festival attendees – it was raining non-stop again. 🙁
Almost all of the Axtone artists were playing on the East Shelter stage that day: Will K, Klahr (check out our video interview here), NEW_ID, MEG \ NERAK, D.O.D (check out our interview here) Kryder, Shapov and Tom Staar. All of them played fantastic sets and had a good time behind the decks.
All in all, it was a great festival. We hope to be back next year with hopefully sunnier weather then and wish you also a lot of fun with our upcoming interviews. You can check out some pictures in our gallery. 🙂
