Daley Padley’s formal DJ education started at 17, playing twelve-hour sets each Sunday at a club in his hometown Barnsley in the UK. With his residency soon becoming the number one after-party destination for clubbers from far and wide, the next step was a 2006 residency at Cream Ibiza in Amnesia. But after a while, the difference between the sounds he was being asked to put on and what he really enjoyed was becoming impossible to bridge. For a few years, Daley stopped producing and DJing all together, his heart no longer in the music he was playing.

Thankfully for house music lovers everywhere, that didn’t last. It was a night out that got him back in the game—an Ibiza after party to be precise. “I plugged in my iPhone, and a track of mine came on. It had just been lying on my hard drive for a couple of months. I hadn’t made it with the intention to release it, or to start DJing again.” But the response that night convinced him to release it, so he contacted his friend, Danish DJ/Producer Noir. ‘Let It Ride’ came out on Noir Music that very summer. It flew to the top of the deep house chart, just as the new style of bass-heavy, garage-influenced deep house was exploding. Hot Since 82 was born.

Since then, Hot Since 82’s trajectory has been nothing short of incredible. Four Pete Tong ‘Essential New Tunes’, two BBC ‘Essential Mixes’, Top 10 Beatport seller of all time with his ‘Bigger Than Prince’ remix, Mixmag cover star, performing live accompanied by a string quartet, four sell out North & South America tours including Coachella (where you can catch him again in 2017), four tantalising Ibiza seasons, touring the world with his unique clubbing experience TAKEN—and the list goes on.

Most notably, Hot Since 82’s imprint Knee Deep In Sound has been churning out amazing tunes since 2014. Hosting extraordinary events at some of the world’s leading festivals—like Miami Music Week and SonárHot Since 82 has become one of the leading players in the game. In 2017, he is upping the ante with his ‘Even Deeper’ tour through Mexico, during which he will be visiting special venues, delving into the local culture, and shooting a mini-documentary in the process. This will be the blueprint for more ‘Even Deeper’ tours yet to come.Thank God for after parties and iPhone shuffle!
