It’s been a week since we’ve disembarked the Genting Dream cruise after four days aboard ‘It’s The Ship’, Asia’s largest festival at sea — and needless to say, we’re all feeling the Ship-drawals! With 4000 attendees in total, this year’s edition has been the most successful event to date. With Tyson Beckford as Captain and over 80 incredible artists on the roster, it made for a journey to remember. Shipmates came together from 88 countries worldwide, with Australia, USA and Germany being among the top ticket sales, followed by Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Japan from around the region.
Organizers LiveScape put together yet another impressive lineup that had a lil’ something for music enthusiasts of every genre. Krewella kicked off the first night with a powerhouse performance, while Yellow Claw closed off the final with a show that had everyone on their feet! Fan favorites Third Party and Tigerlily fueled the energy on the Crown stage, while Brennan Heart and Higher Brothers brought down the Anchor stage. Legendary DJ Craze took to the decks for a stellar performance at Zouk Club for a party that lasted till dawn!
In addition to the music, It’s The Ship offered many side activities that added to the overall fan experience. Guests had the options of partaking in side activities alongside their favorite artists – from beer pong with Peking Duk, to mini golf with Kaku and RayRay, to a front row sear at an exclusive show with the lads of The Chippendales. Talent also reigned from Southeast Asia’s very own rising artists – Bangkok Invaders, Shigga Shay and Jade Rasif – to name a few. A stop on the shores of Phuket, Thailand had over 1700 guests disembarking to soak in the sun on the cabanas of renowned day club, Kudo Beach. To add to an already endless number of enthralling moments, a couple got engaged right on the pool decks Saturday night, along with 6 It’s The Ship fanatics securing their free cabins for next year by getting their very own ITS logo tattooed on them!
The trip ended with everyone watching the sun rise above the coasts in the AM with friends, both old and new, and it made for a perfect ending to a very memorable weekend together!
Stay tuned for our personal highlight review of what went down, and three very special interviews!
